What items were on the homeowners' wish list?

Customization was an important factor and the homeowners wanted a style to suit their taste. They wanted to update the design of their condo and found that the space was not utilized very well.

What did you find to be the biggest obstacle?

Satisfying the needs of both spouses is often challenging. You have to make sure that the needs of both are accommodated.

What lessons did you learn?

A remodel like this one demands a high level of craftsmanship. You really have to be careful using a simple approach in the design as there is no room for error.

Did you find any “hidden gems” in your design plan?

We used a complex design and found that this influenced the subtlety of the tones and layering of the textures in the space which ultimately created a harmonious palette.
