Designer Troy Beasley sets the scene of this Naples, Fla., living room with neutral textured wallpaper and tiled flooring in the same hue.
Powder-blue accent chairs and accessories are brought in to echo the stunning view of the ocean.
We caught up with Troy to find out how the living room design came together.
The homeowners wanted a uniquely styled modern interior with a custom look and to convert the dining room into a bar and entertainment area.
There were elements of the room that the homeowner initially didn't want to change; however, to get the look they would be happy with, overall extensive work needed to be done. The ceiling was reshaped to give it a new flair, we redirected lighting and created points of interest on the interior walls.
Our biggest obstacle was communicating with the homeowners who lived and worked out of state. To overcome the distance, we produced a unique set of drawings and complete set of documents that included sketches of the finished room, samples, etc.
The original concept included a fireplace on one wall, but the homeowners decided they didn't want it. Everything else was how we envisioned the project.
The value of good documents and good communication. We do this as standard practice anyway, but this project was a good example of how critical it is to the overall success of the design.
We designed an organically stacked coffee table because we couldn't find anything to fit the style of the room. When you can't find it, design it to fit your theme.
