This turn-of-the-century kitchen was reinvented without sacrificing the quaint authenticity of the time period in which it was constructed. Painstakingly restored, original Carolina pine wood floors complement a mix of distressed hickory and antiqued maple featured on inset cabinetry doors. Honed black ash granite countertops, a maple beadboard backsplash, original brass spring hinges and push plates, and a hammered copper sink exude care-worn yet contemporary style. An exposed-brick wall, an original swinging door that leads to the dining room and an antique buffet-turned-food-prep island are the space's finishing touches. Design by Rose Marie Carr.
